JEALOUS are a 5 piece straight edge hardcore outfit from Northampton, UK. The band formed in October 2005 and after the replacement of the original vocalist and the addition of a second guitarist at the beginning of ‘06 Jealous recorded a 4 track demo and rapidly picked up shows across the UK including dates with Have Heart, Righteous Jams, Gallows, Awoken, Ritual, The Miracle, The Break In and November Coming Fire.
The band features members of Sworn in (rip) and Anthem of the Century. Jealous completed a UK tour with British hardcore heavyweights Your Demise (zone 6) last November before signing to DoublexCrossed Records on which they have recently released their self titled 7”. Jealous have also been added to the Anchors Aweigh Records (ITA) roster on which they are set to release a split 7” with Swedish band The Romance as well as a UK tour scheduled for late July ’07.
Musically Jealous are fast, thrashy and extremely dark combining obvious rhythm with short sections of manic chaos, playing songs in the same vein as bands such as American Nightmare, Carry On and the Swing Kids with strong influences from the more experimental side of the genre, namely Converge and The Locust. Their sound has been described as “Black Flag jamming out with Converge… but not at all close.” (Scene but not Herd fanzine).

Rooted in despair, THE ROMANCE formed during the spring of 2004. In a time when nothing made sense, when everything right just went wrong, Set out to be furious, raging and intensive and uncompromising.
Musicwise, The Romance is a hardcore band, playing a cross between QOTSA and Cursed, with hints of such wide artists as Mastodon, Neurosis and Interpol.
Lyrically, it’s a pitch black highway; a bruised psyche heading downhill.
Not following a formula of how it should be done, these chaps are playing what they want to.
After a slow and hard 2006 with major setbacks and the downsides bands usually go through, 2007 started out with sharing the stage with The Hope Conspiracy and Dead Reprise, getting back into the action and finding the spirit that is sometimes easy to lose when things don’t work out the way the were supposed to.
The rest of the winter and spring has been a music-writing journey and this summer The Romance will begin to rage for real, on tour in July across UK together with Jealous in support of their upcoming split 7” together on Anchors Aweigh Records (from the island with Italy’s finest shores)
The Romance could be the new faith for non-believers. In a world as black as the night, we can all use some soul mates and partners in crime to rely on.
